Evictions
We have represented both landlords and tenants in Summary Process Evictions at the Housing Courts and various other District Courts. There is a web of often confusing rules surrounding how a landlord must notify his or her tenant of an eviction, what information the parties are required to share with the other side during the process called Discovery, and which motions are required to be filed at what times during the course of litigation. Sometimes a small mistake, such as improper service to a tenant in an eviction case, can result in the entire case being dismissed by the Court. Our familiarity with Housing and Trial Court procedure and the substantive law underpinning it will allow clients to avoid pitfalls while exploiting mistakes made by the other party.
